Mecklenburg County issued a water quality advisory for two ponds at McAlpine Creek Park.
An unknown amount of sewage from a private facility seeped into the ponds, officials said.
Crews are making repairs to stop the leak.
Storm Water Services will continue to test the water quality until bacteria levels are within a safe range.
