Waxhaw passes data center moratorium

WAXHAW, N.C. — The town of Waxhaw is the latest community to pass a data center moratorium.

The Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a one-year pause after a public hearing Tuesday.

So far, no data centers have been proposed in the area.

Channel 9 has reported about data center moratoriums across the region. Charlotte implemented a 150-day pause, York County approved a nine-month moratorium, and Rowan County also passed a one-year pause.
