WAXHAW, N.C. — On Tuesday night, Waxhaw town leaders decided to investigate the mayor's travel expenses.
Last week police arrested Mayor Duane Gardner.
They said she was driving drunk and blew a .18 on a breathalyzer test.
It was her second DWI charge.
After her arrest, council agreed to audit her expenses.
Town leaders plan to begin the censure process against the mayor next.
