Netflix users are being warned about a scam email in their inboxes that targets their personal information.
The scam was detected by Mailguard, an Australian web and email security company.
The suspicious email claims that the customer’s billing information is out of date and they must update the data in order to continue receiving the service.
The client is then asked to click the link in the email and they’re taken to a fake Netflix page, that asks them to log in and then enter their personal information.
The fake website asks for the person’s address, credit card number, driver’s license and mother’s maiden name. This allows scammers to potentially steal a person’s identity or gain access to the vicitm’s bank accounts and credit cards.
