Why SC lawmakers want to bring back red light cameras

SOUTH CAROLINA — Two South Carolina lawmakers want to help relieve the work for law enforcement by bringing back red light cameras.

Our partners at the Rock Hill Herald report traffic signal cameras would automatically issue tickets for red light violations.

If the bill becomes law, the decision to use the cameras will be up to each county or town.

The bill is still in the House Judiciary Committee.
