BURKE CO. — One person died after a boating accident in Burke County Sunday.
Four people were on the boat when it hit a dock. Troopers said the passengers fell to the floor of the boat, which caused injuries. There is no evidence alcohol was involved.
Two people, a husband and wife, were taken to the hospital. Sherry Reneger, was pronounced dead at Blue Ridge Healthcare-Grace Hospital in Morganton. Her cause of death has not been determined.
Her husband, John Reneger was transferred from Grace Hospital to Carolinas Medical Center. He had traumatic head injuries, troopers said.
