Woman charged after boyfriend shot to death, deputies say

ANSON COUNTY, N.C. — A woman was arrested and charged in the death of her boyfriend in Anson County, according to officials.

Deputies were called to Powe Lane around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. When deputies arrived, they found Kim Leon Campbell, 37, was dead on a neighbor’s porch steps.

Officials said Campbell was shot during an argument with his girlfriend, Christa Colson, 44. Colson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. It is the first homicide in Anson County for 2016.
