CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — A Cabarrus County woman will spend 12 days in jail for a massive case of animal cruelty.
A tip last year led police to Patricia Yates' home, where they found 130 animals that were starving, filthy and in desperate need of medical care, deputies said.

Besides jail time, Yates faces a $30,000 fine and she's not allowed to own any animals for two years.
This week, Yates was convicted on 12 misdemeanor charges.
