GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gastonia police officers are investigating after a woman was found dead on Interstate 85 early Sunday morning, according to Channel 9's partners at the Gaston Gazette.
The woman was found dead just after 3 a.m. on I-85 north at the North New Hope Road overpass.
It's not clear how the woman died, but officers shut down I-85 north for several hours.
The interstate has since reopened.
