KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — A woman was killed when a FedEx van and another car crashed Thursday afternoon in Kannapolis, authorities said.
The FedEx van could be seen against a tree along Kannapolis Parkway with the car next to it.

A Channel 9 crew at the scene said it appeared first responders may have had to cut open the car to rescue the driver.
On Friday, officials said the FedEx van was heading south on Kannapolis Parkway when the car, driven by Stacy Riggins, of Marshville, tried to cross the southbound lanes and was hit by the van.
Riggins was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the FedEx van was also injured but will be OK, authorities said.
Police said the crash is still under investigation.
