Woman says robber broke into home while daughter asleep

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Kings Mountain police are searching for the person who broke into a woman's apartment pointed a gun at her and stole money all while her daughter was asleep in another room.

Her 13-year-old daughter was in bed asleep when the robber broke into her home at the Carolina Gardens Apartments.

He shattered a window.

The teenager thought someone broke a plate in the kitchen downstairs and she went back to sleep.

The woman, who doesn't want her face shown, believes she got home about two minutes after the man broke in.

She said as she entered her home he was standing at the door waving a gun at her.

He made her stand in the closet as he searched for money.

She begged him not to harm her child.

He took the woman upstairs and made her lay face down on the bed while he searched for money, but he didn't go into the teen's room.

The man took $2 from her purse and a large screen TV.

Investigators looked into information in a home invasion that have police in Bessemer City wondering if there is a link to two beatings and robberies there.
