CONCORD, N.C. — A wounded solider will return home to Concord with a hero's welcome on Saturday.

Mayor Scott Padgett is proclaiming Dec. 22 as Tyler Jeffries Day.

Jeffries lost both of his legs in an explosion in Afghanistan in October.

Patriot Guard motorcycle riders will escort him from Walter Reed Hospital in Maryland.

He will arrive in Concord just after 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The public is invited to bring flags and signs, and line the road leading to a homecoming ceremony at Crosspointe Baptist Church.
