YORK COUNTY, S.C. — York County residents may have to pay more taxes soon.
According to The Rock Hill Herald, county staff and elected officials are discussing recreation taxes as they form a budget for the fiscal year starting July 1.

Right now, only people living in unincorporated areas have to pay the tax.
In a new proposal – everyone would pay.
Residents paying now are spending between $6 and $23 a year.
County officials have not said when they’ll hold a meeting to discuss this, or if that rate would stay the same.
