LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — On Feb. 1, a man looking at an abandoned wooded area to buy in Lincolnton found a red box that had an urn inside containing cremated ashes.
The Sheriff’s Office asked the public’s help to locate it.
A couple hours after the call for help, authorities said the owner of the urn was located.
The man was near the 900 block of Lakeland Avenue when he discovered the urn.
The urn and other items were stolen on Oct. 22, 2019, from a home Maiden-Salem Road.
