CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jury duty carries a reputation of long hours, little pay and no fun, which explains why most shudder when they receive the notice in the mail.
Mecklenburg County has figured out a way to debunk that impression by proclaiming July 23-27 "Jury Duty Week."
Jurors who serve during the special week will have the chance to win prizes and participate in special programs.
The organizers of the fun-filled week said it is a way to show appreciation to all the people who serve their civic duties.
