Mooresville Man Accused Of Raping 15-Year-Old

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C.,None — Police have an Iredell County who is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in custody, according to the Statesville Record and Landmark.

Antonio Caldwell, 25, of Mooresville, was arrested on Tuesday, said Lt. Bill Hamby of the Iredell County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit.

According to police, the girl told a school resource officer that a man assaulted her on April 8 and then the victim identified Caldwell in a series of suspect photos.

Lt. Hamby met with the suspect in Mooresville on April 15 and spoke with him. No arrest warrants had been issued at that time.

Police said they obtained two felony warrants for statutory rape and two felony warrants for indecent liberties with a minor for Caldwell on Monday.
