RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina boy has died more than a week after his older brother shot him in the neck with an arrow.
Local media outlets report that funeral services are being held Thursday for 7-year-old Daniel Velazquez.
Deputies say the boy's 11-year-old brother shot him in the neck March 15 at a home in Raleigh. The boys' mother told a 911 operator her son was shooting at things in the woods when Daniel was struck.
The boy died several days later at a hospital.
Wake County deputies are still investigating but say they think the shooting was an accident.
