CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Officials will install new security cameras on Tuesday at the site of a weekend homicide.
The district manager of the Cookout restaurant on West Sugar Creek Road told Eyewitness News that plans for the cameras were in place before Sunday morning's shooting.
Devon Clement, 20, was killed in that shooting. People nearby reported hearing nearly two dozen shots.
Eyewitness News talked to Clement's family, who urged witnesses to come forward.
"It's incredible how everybody wants to be quiet," Clement's stepfather, Owan Chase, said. "Everybody's gotta understand, it could've been their family member."
Clement's family is planning a vigil for him at the restaurant on Wednesday night.
