CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Police arrested a suspect after a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in west Charlotte on Friday.

Investigators said Daniel Foster shot and killed Willie Hopper in the parking of Glenwood Point Apartments near Freedom Drive around 11:30 a.m. Officers said the shooting happened after a fight over a woman.
Based on witness statements, police said Hopper was sitting in the driver's seat of a Jeep Grand Cherokee when Foster shot him several times in the chest. Hopper then got out of the vehicle and collapsed on the walkway, police said.
Investigators said the two were arguing over Foster's on-again, off-again girlfriend. Investigators said Hopper was also involved with the woman.
Police arrested Foster on Friday afternoon after he turned himself in at the Albemarle Police Department.
Foster has been charged with murder.
