CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — A naked, intoxicated woman broke into Jay M. Robinson Middle School early Monday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Officers said 58-year-old Janice Shields, of Chesnee, S.C., broke a window at the school, setting off its alarm at about 4 a.m. When police arrived, they said, Shields was alone and intoxicated and could not tell them why she was at the school, located on Ballantyne Commons Parkway, or how she got there.
Shields did not have any clothes with her, police said.
She is charged with breaking and entering and assault. Police said the assault charge is from an incident that happened prior to Shields being at the school.
Shields is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
