Ilario Pantano said Monday he will attend the September 11 protest. Pantano says President Obama is wrong about the project. Obama has said that religious freedom allows the mosque to be built. But the president said he's not commenting on "the wisdom" of building a mosque two blocks from ground zero.

Pantano is taking on seven-term Democratic Rep. Mike McIntyre of Lumberton for North Carolina's 7th Congressional District. Pantano fought in the first Gulf War and rejoined the Marines after witnessing the attacks on September 11 and fought in Iraq.
