Response From Queen City Paint & Body

None — In response to our telephone conversation on May 17, 2010 Queen City Paint & Body would like to say the following:

Queen City Paint & Body is an independent body shop. We are not affiliated with any insurance company nor do we portray ourselves to be. We inform all of our customers that indeed we are an independent body shop and although we work along with the insurance companies and the outside adjusters we do not work for them.

After we explain our position and our incentive offer we have the customer sign paperwork that acknowledges their understanding of our policies. The customer also signs paperwork authorizing repairs.

We have signage posted on and throughout our facility that reads Queen City Paint & Body. We also have our fees and charges posted throughout the building.

We operate the same as many other local body shops. We work from a database that is of public record.

Furthermore, under North Carolina law, G.S. 58-3-180, the customer has the right to choose their repair facility (body shop) for their damaged vehicle.

As per the law, we offer our services to people who have been involved in traffic accidents.

The real story is how the insurance companies urge the claimants to move their vehicles to one of their "preferred" shops. The insurer representatives constantly question our customer's choice in our body shop. From what customers have told us, they try to persuade them to move their cars to these "preferred" shops. The bottom line is: It's the customers right to chose.

We offer a superb service to our customers. We offer cash back incentives to our customers. We also pay a percentage of the insured's deductible in the cases where the claim is filed against their own insurance. Queen City Paint & Body operates within the law.

Thank you for your time.
