MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A South Carolina man is dead after a gunshot ended a bar fight at Myrtle Beach restaurant.

Local media report 25-year-old Roger Ramos died after 1 a.m. Sunday at Riptydz Oceanfront Grille.

Myrtle Beach Police say Ramos was shot during a fight. They say they've taken someone into custody, but haven't released a name or announced formal charges.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler says Ramos was taken to a hospital where he died.

Daniel Stotler tells The Sun News he and Ramos went to the restaurant to watch a mixed martial arts fight on television.

The restaurant, in a statement issued later Sunday, says Ramos was an off-duty employee. The restaurant says it will be closed until Wednesday and will work with security and police to prevent future violence.
