ENOREE, S.C. — State police are investigating after an inmate died at a South Carolina prison last weekend.
The South Carolina Department of Corrections said that 46-year-old Michael Harold Brown of Manning died Saturday at the Tyger River Correctional Institution in Enoree.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger said a preliminary investigation showed no sign of trauma. He said he is waiting for toxicology results before he can make a ruling on the death.
Prison spokesman Dexter Lee told news outlets that SLED and the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office are investigating Brown's death.
Brown was serving a 10 year sentence for attempted armed robbery. He had been in the prison system since June 2016.
