GASTON COUNTY, N.C.,None — Police in Gaston County arrested a teenager they say shot another teenager in the head in Bessemer City on Friday.
Officers arrested 19-year-old Damian Pince Reid at his home in Bessemer City Friday. He faces multiple charges, including with assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.
Detectives with the Gaston County Police Department said Reid shot 17-year-old William Adam Clay in the head at his home on Oak Street in Bessemer City.
Clay was taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital for treatment and then taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
Reid is being held in the Gaston County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
Officers did not give a motive for the shooting, but they said the investigation is on-going.
