La secretaria de prensa Kayleigh McEnany dijo a traves de Twitter que “Bajo la dirección del presidente @ realDonaldTrump, la Guardia Nacional está en camino junto con otros servicios de protección federales”.
Miles de partidarios del presidente Donald Trump salieron a las calles de Washington el miércoles para protestar mientras el Congreso se preparaba para certificar el voto del Colegio Electoral para el exvicepresidente Joe Biden.

El vicepresidente Mike Pence pidió el fin de las protestas violentas y escribió en un tuit que “la violencia y la destrucción ... deben detenerse y deben detenerse ahora”.
El líder de la minoría de la Cámara de Representantes, Kevin McCarthy, dijo que habló con el presidente el miércoles temprano y le dijo que hiciera una declaración para “calmar a las personas”.
