Alligator temporarily shuts down Florida highway

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. — An alligator briefly shut down a stretch of a Florida highway Monday morning.

The 6-foot alligator was feeding on a dead deer Monday morning in High Springs.

Officials briefly shut down U.S. Highway 441 when it crossed the street after feeding on the deer, according to a Facebook post by the High Springs Police Department.
