NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A 38-year-old man is accused of stealing an ambulance from a Nashville hospital early Monday, WKRN reported.
Thomas, Luu, 38, is charged with driving under the influence, evading arrest and theft of an item worth $250,000 or more, according to court records.
According to WSMV, a Nashville Fire Department ambulance crew was dropping off a patient at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital around 2:45 a.m. According to ambulance crew members, Luu, who was wearing sunglasses, walked past them, jumped into the ambulance and drove away.
On April 28, Luu was convicted on a disorderly conduct charge.
Investigators said they tracked the ambulance to the Music Row area, where Luu began blaring the air horn, WKRN reported.
Luu surrendered to police around 3:30 a.m., the television station reported.
Luu is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, according to court records.
