Ohio sheriff's K-9 hailed a hero after finding missing 3-year-old in 10 minutes

SHELBY COUNTY, Ohio — A Shelby County Sheriff's Office K-9 is being hailed as a hero for locating a missing 3-year-old child Tuesday.

“This is exactly why we have dog units watching this track you could tell very well that Bandit had the scent of the child and was well on his way to finding him,” the sheriff’s office said in the post.

Deputies were asked to help locate the missing child at a house in the 15,000 block of Sidney Plattsville Road.

The K-9, Bandit, and its handler, Deputy Frank Bleigh, started a search at the front of the house and safely located the child within 10 minutes of responding, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post.
