HAVELOCK, N.C. — One man was killed and another was injured following a shooting at a North Carolina nightclub early Saturday, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at about 3:33 a.m. EDT at 4 Kegs Nightclub in Havelock, WITN reported.
Police arriving at the scene found two men lying on the street near the nightclub, according to the television station.
Because of the large number of people in the area, police officers said they were unable to identify or arrest a subject, WNCT reported.
Both men were taken to an area hospital. One of the men died of his injuries, and the other man had non-life-threatening injuries, the television station reported.
The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin, WITN reported.
The shooting was related to an earlier altercation between several people, police told the television station.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
