CALDWELL, Kan. — A 12-year-old girl accidentally shot and killed her sister, also 12, last week in Kansas, authorities said.
According to KWCH and KSNW, the incident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. Friday on South Blackstone Road in Caldwell. Authorities received a report that a child had accidentally shot her sibling in the face and arrived to find the victim unresponsive, the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office said.
Caldwell police and emergency crews attempted to revive the victim for 40 minutes but were unsuccessful, deputies said.
No further details about the incident, including possible charges and the victim’s identity, were immediately available.
The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
