OCALA, Fla. — Two people were killed and four others were injured in a shooting early Sunday in a north-central Florida city, authorities said.
According to a news release from the Ocala Police Department, officers were called to a residence in Ocala at about 4:30 a.m. EST. A crowd of approximately 100 people were in the area at the time of the shooting.
Police identified the two men killed as Davonta Harris, 30, and Abdul Hakeem Van Croskey, 24. Four other people suffered gunshot wounds and were in stable condition, police said. They were being treated “at an undisclosed location,” according to the agency.
Police have not released any other details about the shooting, adding that the scene is secure, WFTV reported.
“This tragic event has left many devastated and mourning,” police said in the news release. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this terrible act.”
