Branson Blade Smith made his debut into the world on Friday by cesarean section, WHNT reported. The infant, who was born shortly before 9 a.m. at Madison Hospital in Huntsville, tipped the scales at 14 pounds and was 23 inches long, the television station reported.

The hospital posted a picture of Branson on its Facebook page, along with Dr. Will Stroud and labor-delivery nurses Courtney and Tori.

The infant’s parents, Kaitlin Smith and Bradley Smith, are doing well, WAFF reported, and well as their newborn.

Hospital officials said Branson broke the hospital record for the largest baby ever delivered at the northern Alabama facility, WVLT reported.
