“Pitch Perfect” star Anna Camp said she believes she contracted the coronavirus after not wearing a mask in public one time.
Camp, 37, posted her belief in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“Hi friends ... I felt it was my responsibility to share that I ended up getting COVID-19. I have since tested negative, but I was extremely sick for over three weeks and still have lingering symptoms,” Camp wrote. “I was incredibly safe. I wore a mask. I used hand sanitizer. One time, when the world was starting to open up, I decided to forgo wearing my mask in public. One. Time. And I ended up getting it,” Camp wrote. “I believe it may have been because of that one time.”
The actor urged her followers to do their part by wearing a mask, Variety reported.
Camp then described some of her symptoms, noting that contracting COVID-19 was “absolutely not” like being sick with the flu.
I don’t want any of you to go through what I did,” Camp wrote. Even though it’s a little thing, it can have a huge impact, and it’s so incredibly easy to do.”
In March, Camp shared a photo of herself and boyfriend Michael Johnson enjoying quality time in the desert of Joshua Tree, California, while she dealt with the coronavirus, People reported.
