In a Facebook post, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office shared a photo of the puppy with its head sticking out of the red cooler bag in which it was found.

Investigators had been serving a search warrant on the vehicle and told KATU that in addition to the animal, they found what is believed to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, and Xanax.

Deputies said the dog’s owner surrendered the puppy to animal control.

The owner will be charged with animal cruelty and possession of a controlled substance.
