The Greenwich Police Department posted several surveillance photos of the suspect on its Facebook page, asking for help to identify her. In the post, officers said the woman went into a business and tried to steal several purses. She was interrupted by bystanders and ran out of the store.

The bystander who was hit by the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries, WTNH reported.

Police said that when the suspect ran out of the store, she, as well as another bystander, was hit by an SUV driven by a man whom police said was there to pick up the suspect.

Police said they did not know whether the suspect was hurt.
