ORO VALLEY, Ariz. — A K-9 crimefighter has had his last call and has retired.

On Bruno’s last day with the Oro Valley Police Department he got a cool sendoff, complete with ice cream, KTVK reported.

A followup post shows that Bruno is ready for his new assignment of “dreaming of ice cream sandwiches” as he lounges around the house.

He’s served his community for seven years and has helped take $1 million worth of narcotics off the streets of the Arizona town, KTVK reported.

His handler adopted Bruno after his last day on the force and Bruno will have a new life “chasing rabbits instead of bad guys,” as the dispatcher said during his last call video.
