PHOENIX — A suspect has been arrested months after a woman was reportedly killed in a home break-in in Phoenix, Arizona, officials say.
Months after Destiny Hernandez, 19, was murdered during a home break-in, Phoenix Police Department announced an arrest of an alleged gunman on Facebook on Thursday.
The suspect was identified as Jvion Gadson-Scott, 18, according to KTVK.
Hernandez was shot and killed at her boyfriend’s house near 79th Avenue and Broadway Road back in July, according to KTVK.
Police reportedly arrived at the house just before 11:30 p.m., according to KSAZ. Officers found Hernandez with multiple gunshot wounds and a man with a non-life-threatening injury.
The man reportedly told investigators that multiple people had entered the house wearing ski masks and dark clothing, according to court records obtained by KPNX.
Gadson-Scott was arrested after investigators reportedly used GPS tracking data and DNA tests to allegedly connect him to the incident, according to KPNX.
Gadson-Scott was booked on recommended charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault, burglary, and 10 counts of possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, according to KTVK.
