The company announced that water can seep into the wiring and could start a fire. The water can get into a connector in the driver’s footwell, The Associated Press reported.

Owners who either are experiencing the issues outlined, smell a burning odor or see smoke should park their vehicle outside and call Nissan Roadside Assistance to have the SUV towed to a dealer.

The water can corrode the wires and can stop the windows or power seats from working or cause the all-wheel-drive warning light to come on. It can also drain the SUV’s battery.

Nissan said it hopes to have a fix in the spring, with owners receiving a letter in March alerting them to the recall. They’ll get a second notification when they can take their Rogue to a dealer for a repair, the AP reported.

The recall involves Rogue SUVs from 2014 through 2016, the AP reported.
