Power crews: "Expect outages"
As of 10 p.m., just under 2,300 people were without power in Mecklenburg County.
“We do have a lot of ice out there. It's affected the Wilmington area as well as Florence. Travel conditions are not ideal at this point,” said Duke spokesperson Meghan Musgrave. “There's a lot of ice on roadways, and trees and tree limbs can be blocking roadways as well.”
Duke Energy is asking customers to be prepared for potential multi-day outages.
“Right now we don't have an estimated time of restoration. Once our team members are out in the field assessing the damage and knowing what resources and equipment they need, we'll have a better estimated time of restoration for these customers,” Musgrave said.
More info on outages can be found here.
