Woman accused of pushing 11-year-old boy off his bike

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C.,None — A Kings Mountain woman is accused of attacking an 11-year-old boy and pushing him off his bicycle.

Whitney Monique McKinney, 23, of the 100 block of Goodall Drive, allegedly pushed the boy off his bike, hit him in the arm and slapped him in the face on Sept. 25, 2010, according to court documents. An arrest warrant for McKinney, who then had a listed address on House Street in Shelby, was issued that day, but McKinney wasn't arrested until nearly a year later.

Shelby police say McKinney stole Gain laundry detergent and Reynolds Wrap from Walmart Supercenter on Wednesday. She was charged with misdemeanor larceny and second-degree trespassing and also faces a charge of assault on a child under 12 in the September 2010 incident.
