None — Robbery detectives are looking over surveillance video from inside an Epicentre parking garage after a parking attendant was choke and robbed Friday night.
Police said the robbery took some planning, because the suspect approached his victim from behind, while his getaway car was idling on the street, out of the view of cameras.
Jakara Johnson, 26, said was collecting parking fees at the entrance gate to the garage on East 4th Street when she was grabbed from behind around 10:30 pm Friday night.
"For me not to see it coming, and then to get choked out? It was terrifying," Johnson said.
Johnson was one of two female employees manning the entrance gate.
"I'm standing there, literally with a customer. I'm like, 'Come on in, sir.' And as he's passing me, and I put my hand back down, he's all on me," she recalled.
Johnson said the robber choked her so hard, she briefly lost consciousness. Police said the robber took all the cash in her hand.
Police said there were several witnesses, but detectives admitted they're frustrated because they don't have a clear description of either the suspect, or the getaway car.
Johnson said she has no choice but to return to work.
"I'm just a single mom, trying to work, trying to do the best I can for me and my son," she said.
Johnson said she loves her job but will request not work at the 4th Street entrance in the future.
Eyewitness News called Johnson's employer, Preferred Parking, to see if they plan on security changes in light of the attack, but our crew was told the administrative offices are closed until Monday morning.
