CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When a boy handed Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly his Pinewood Derby car, Kuechly offered to sign it and give it back to him.
The boy insisted that Kuechly keep it because it was a derby winner, so Kuechly asked the boy to autograph it.
So the boy wouldn’t leave empty-handed, Kuechly told him to take his practice gloves.

“You have to put your name on it, that’s the rule,” Kuechly said.
Kuechly found him a marker and helped him fit his name, Jackson, onto the small toy car.
“It’s commodity trading,” Kuechly told the excited Jackson.
