NC boy band performs ‘Superman like Cam' song to cheer on Panthers

GASTONIA, N.C. — A band made up of three brothers from Gastonia, North Carolina, wrote a song to cheer on the Panthers to Super Bowl victory.

Herman, Edwin, and Sean Michael Gore have been performing as The Gore Boyz since 2009 when they debuted in a school talent show.

The boys, huge fans of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, titled their song "Super Man like Cam."

Sean Gore, 10, met Newton last year at a Charlotte Hornets basketball game.

When Newton's security told Gore he couldn't take a photo with the quarterback, Newton stepped in and posed for a photo anyway.

The band said they try to give back to their community through their performances.

"Well, that was one of the most amazing moments of my life, because he's one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and I got to actually meet him," Gore said.

Last summer, the boys performed to a packed house at the Knight Theater in Charlotte, giving the proceeds to the Women’s Shelter of Gaston County and Bit of Hope Ranch.

The boys have also donated more than $2,000 to Rhyne Elementary School in Gastonia.

The boys’ song was released Saturday on iTunes and YouTube.
