CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Catholic Big 22 player Elijah Hood rushed for over 300 yards and scored five touchdowns Saturday in a game against Gonzaga College High out of Washington, D.C.
Hood's parents told Channel 9 sports director Tiffany Wright that he rushed for 348 yards in the game.
Catholic scored late to take a 35-28 win.
Hood is closing in on a couple of all-time rushing records for Mecklenburg County.
Hood decommitted from Notre Dame earlier this week, stating he wanted to be closer to his family.
Hood's team is facing nationally ranked Northwestern in week 2. That matchup is one of the choices in our Game of the Week voting this week.
