FORECAST:
- Excessive heat and humidity will continue to dominate the weather across Charlotte, with heat alerts remaining in effect through Tuesday.
- Temperatures will climb into the mid-90s, while heat index values reach the triple digits.
- The extreme heat is expected to continue through Thursday before a cold front approaches the area.
- The front won’t bring much immediate cooling, but it will stall near Charlotte Friday, bringing more clouds and multiple chances for rain and storms through the weekend.
- That wetter pattern should finally knock temperatures down and provide some relief from the prolonged heat wave.
