$50K in taxpayers' money could go to Charlotte YMCA program

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte City Council wants to send $50,000 of taxpayers’ money to the YMCA.

The money would be used to create an after-school program with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for at-risk kids.

Councilwoman Patsy Kinsey is against the proposal saying she thinks the YMCA can cover costs without the city’s help. Council will make a decision in the coming weeks.
