SALISBURY, N.C. — Crews responded to an explosion and furnace fire Sunday afternoon at the Granges plant at 1709 S. Jake Alexander Blvd. in Salisbury.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control.
Three plant personnel were evaluated by medics, but they refused any additional treatment.
The furnace and the rear of the building had extensive damage, firefighters said.
