Salisbury apartment fire ruled arson; search on for 'person of interest'

SALISBURY, N.C. — Officials said they are searching for a "person of interest" after a fire at a Salisbury apartment early Sunday morning was ruled arson, officials said.

The Salisbury Fire Department was called around 3:15 a.m. to a two-story apartment building on South Main Street near Mildred Avenue.

Firefighters said the blaze was in the middle apartment of the building, and they were able to get it under control.

No arrests have been made at this point.

This is an ongoing investigation.
