COLUMBIA, S.C. — A former University of South Carolina assistant soccer coach has been sentenced to seven years in prison for having child porn.
In June of last year, Roberto Molinary Jr. pleaded guilty in federal court.
Investigators said a former co-worker saw pornography on Molinary's school laptop and told officials. Authorities then found pornographic images of children under the age of 12 on Molinary’s home computer.
Molinary worked as the assistant coach for the men's soccer team at USC from 2005 through 2012, when he resigned.
Once he serves his prison time, Molinary will register as a sex offender, participate in a sex offender treatment program, take random polygraph exams and refrain from contact with minors without approval.
